After an incredible reverse sweep, Fnatic have qualified for The International after defeating TNC Predator 2-3.
- Marc Polo Luis "Raven" Fausto
- Ng "ChYuan" Kee Chyuan
- Yang "Deth" Wu Heng
- Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong
- Djardel Jicko B. "DJ" Mampusti
After failing to qualify for the AniMajor, Fnatic took a step back and shuffled their roster. The team released Kam "Moon" Boon Seng who had been on the roster since the middle of 2019 and moved ChYuan back to the mid lane, which he has played much of in the past, and brought aboard Deth as the new offlaner.
With only one Southeast Asian team qualifying to TI through DPC points, it was unsure how Fnatic would perform in this stacked qualifier. The team didn’t have a great amount of time to adjust to these roster changes. Having to go through the likes of TNC, BOOM Esports, Execration, and other strong teams would be a great challenge. But this team of seasoned veterans played their hearts out and rode through the upper bracket.
It takes great endurance to play five games back to back, especially when you go down 2-0. Fnatic showed that they deserve a spot at the biggest tournament of the year and made for some entertaining qualifiers. This will be ChYuan and Deth’s first TI appearance.
The SEA qualifiers ended alongside the North American qualifiers, which leaves only the Chinese and Western European qualifiers. These qualifiers will run from July 7 to July 10. Stay tuned for more updates!
