Masaros joined Fnatic in November 2020 in order to replace
Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang. He had recently performed incredibly well on his previous team, Motivate.Trust Gaming, all eyes were on him to perform well. After a mediocre finish at BTS Pro Series Season 4: Southeast Asia, people had their doubts about how Fnatic would perform in the DPC. However, Fnatic dominated the DPC and placed first, earning a direct invite to the playoffs of the Major.
Unfortunately for Fnatic, they were not be able to keep the momentum from the DPC in the Major. With the new format of Majors, all it took was Fnatic losing two series to
Evil Geniuses and
OB Esports x Neon to be eliminated.
Fnatic is the only team from the Major that was seeded directly into the playoffs that did not receive any extra DPC points or prize money as they failed to place in the top 8. With this result, Fnatic believed change needed to be made, and Masaros was benched.
Fnatic has yet to announce any players to fill as their offlaner. Masaros stated he will play with his former Thai teammates, so we may see the reformation of Motivate.Trust Gaming.
There will certainly be more roster changes between now and the next season of the DPC and we’ll have you covered here at TrackDota!
