health troubles ahead of Major

By Jack VioletMarch 18, 2021
With a little over a week until the ONE Esports Singapore Major, has announced that their carry player Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko has begun feeling ill and may be unable to participate in the tournament.
Nightfall originally began to feel ill a few days ago with a high body temperature and tiredness. Thankfully, all of the players on the roster have tested negative for COVID-19. Though Nightfall has tested negative and is in stable condition, he has been isolated from his teammates and is unable to practice ahead of the Major.
The organization stated that they have registered Igor "iLTW" Filatov as a potential stand-in if the need for a substitute arises. iLTW was a part of the previous iteration of VP and the team has already begun practicing with him.
VP qualified directly to the playoffs of the Major, after an undefeated run in the DPC CIS Upper Division. For Nightfall and VP to come all this way just to miss the first Major of the season would be highly unfortunate. Hopefully, Nightfall is able to recover in time for the tournament.
