The highly anticipated series between VP and Na’Vi proved to be rather one-sided. In game one, Na’Vi attempted the “Factory Alchemist” build that has seen rising popularity recently. Despite getting their Slark an Aghanim’s Scepter at 13 minutes, the rest of the team was too far behind to aid their carry, and VP quickly snowballed out of control.
Na’Vi decided to go all-in with their comfort picks, choosing the classic Viktor "GeneRaL" Nigrini
Clockwerk and Bogdan "Iceberg" Vasilenko
Queen of Pain. Unfortunately, these comfort picks were not the answer for success and VP once again stomped their opposition. With this loss, Na’Vi finishes the season 5-2 and claims second in the region, securing a spot in the group stage at the Major.
Tiebreakers seem to be commonplace this DPC season, and the CIS Upper Division will conclude with two sets of them. AS Monaco Gambit
and Team Spirit
have both finished this season 4-3 after their victories this weekend and will face off in one last best of three to determine who will secure the wild card spot. The last time these two teams faced off was in week three, where Spirit was victorious, 2-1. However, this was before Live to Win became ASM Gambit, meaning they did not have Vladimir "Noone" Minenko
as their mid player which has been a significant improvement for the team. Will this change be enough for ASM Gambit to take revenge on Spirit?
and Team Unique
have both finished the season 2-5 and will also play a tiebreaker. Both of these teams have had a rather lackluster season and the loser of this series will be relegated to the Lower Division. Unique came out on top last time these teams met in week four, but the series did go to three games. With relegation on the line, these teams need to give it their all to stay with the best.
Catch both tiebreakers on February 28, beginning with Team Empire versus Team Unique.
