Today, February 11, Gambit Esports has announced the acquisition of Live to Win's
roster. Live to Win have been competing in the Upper Division of the CIS region DPC. In the announcement, Gambit Esports indicates another significant aspect: Vladimir "None" Minenko will stand-in for the team, replacing Rostislav "fn" Lozovoi.
The new AS Monaco roster is currently sitting in fourth place in the DPC, having a 2-2 series record and a 5-5 game record. This puts them slightly behind Team Spirit
whose game record is 6-5. The top three teams in the CIS region will advance to the Major, with the third-place team heading to the Major Wild Card to earn their spot in the group stage.
The AS Monaco roster will include:
- Kiyalbek "dream" Tayirov
- Vladimir "None" Minenko
- Vasilii "AfterLife" Shishkin
- Aleksandr "Immersion" Khmelevskoi
Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev
The partnership with AS MOanaco was announced two days ago.
The team will compete with the "famous red-white jerseys" of the AS Monaco football club. In a press release, Oleg Petrov, Vice-President and CEO of AS Monaco said of the move, "his orientation responds to a twofold objective: to enable us to diversify our activities by addressing a different, young and highly connected audience, while supporting the club’s internationalization strategy by developing our presence in key territories."
Meanwhile, Gambit Esports' previous team will continue to compete with the organization under the Gambit-2 tag. They're currently fourth in the Lower Divsion of the CIS DPC, with that same record of 2-2 series and 5-5 games.
