You may be asking yourself: wait, Team Spirit has a Dota team again? That’s right! Before their first series in the tournament, Team Spirit picked up the players of
Yellow Submarine. The organization had not competed since OGA Dota PIT Season 1: Europe/CIS back in May and didn’t find much success in the online tournaments. This was an impressive showing for the new roster’s first tournament, taking down one of the Europe powerhouses Vikin.gg, who had recently placed third at EPIC League Division 1.
Though a smaller tournament, Team Spirit should definitely be proud of themselves for not dropping a single game to Vikin.gg. This was the first time the two teams had played each other in a tournament. Each game was a complete stomp, and all players of Team Spirit played fantastically.
Things seem to be looking up for the CIS region as this is the third tournament in a row where a CIS team has won: first it was Virtus.pro in EPIC League, then Natus Vincere in OGA Dota PIT Season 4: Europe/CIS, and now Team Spirit in BTS Pro Series 4: Europe/CIS. With the DPC approaching in January, the CIS region will definitely have some competitive teams in the upper division.
For now, it looks like this will be some of the last Dota that we see until the DPC. If any tournaments or roster changes are announced, we’ll have you covered, so be on the lookout!
