BTS Pro Series Season 4: Europe/CIS: All you need to know

By Jack VioletDecember 15, 2020
The Europe & CIS portion of the BTS Pro Series Season 4 begins December 16 and will end December 20.
Six teams will compete for a total of $35,000, with the winner taking home $15,000. This is also the last EU/CIS event of 2020, meaning these teams will really need to stand out as the DPC begins in January 2021.

Group Stage Teams:

The clear favorite of these teams is Vikin.gg. They have consistently improved throughout this year and have been extremely dominant at EPIC League. It would shock us if they didn’t claim first place. Other than that, Yellow Submarine has also steadily improved since their formation. At EPIC League, they were the only team to break out of Division 2 into the Division 1 playoffs and claimed a seventh-eighth place finish after falling 2:0 to OG. If there was a team to upset Vikin.gg, it would be Yellow Submarine.
As for the group stage, Live to Win, captained by Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev, is definitely the strongest contender. This team finished strong in EPIC League’s Division 2, earning second place after losing 2:3 to Alliance. Live to Win is made up of several well-known veterans from the CIS scene, and should grab the top spot in the group.
Second place predictions are a toss-up. Brame competed at DOTA Summit 13, and was able to take down 5men and claim games off of Ninjas in Pyjamas and Liquid, but wasn’t able to accomplish much. The team’s roster features several Greek players, including Kharis "SkyLark" Zafeiriou and Giorgos "SsaSpartan" Giannakopoulos. Spider Pigzs and Nikola "LeBronDota" Popović , previously known as Tempo Esports, could also take this spot. The roster has been playing together for a few months and hasn’t had great placements, but did grab a spot in the upper bracket of EPIC League Division 2 and defeated ex-Ninjas in Pyjamas. Cascade has some pretty unknown CIS players, their most notable players being their carry Alexey "Zitraks" Ischenko and offlane Alexey "Mastery" Vinchevskiy. This group should definitely make for some competitive tier two DOTA.

Format

The group stage will begin on December 16th and will be a GSL group and the top two groups will advance to the playoffs. The group stage will conclude until December 18. Playoffs are single elimination, where the second seed will play Vikin.gg and the first seed will play Yellow Submarine. Playoffs begin on December 19 and end on the 20t
