has announced the addition of two players to its Dota 2 roster: Souliya "JaCkky" Khoomphetsavong and Kenny "Xepher" Deo.
JaCkky recently played for Motivate.Trust Gaming, a Southeast Asian squad that was on the rise until it started losing players.
As that team's carry player, JaCkky was a key part of MTG's success. The squad won DOTA Summit 13: Southeast Asia and BTS Pro Series Season 3: Southeast Asia before apparently being harvested by higher-profile organizations.
Xepher comes from the recent impromptu stack, Among Us, which placed second at DOTA Summit 13: Southeast Asia. He joined the squad after his former squad Geek Fam disbanded.
At the time, Geek Fam had won two events in a row, ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League and BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, T1 had found a middling place in the SEA scene, with a fourth-place finish at ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League in July, when Geek Fam knocked them out. T1 last competed in September at ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia, where they finished fifth-sixth. They've since undergone some roster changes, saying farewell to Galvin "Meracle" Kang Jian Wen, Muhammad "inYourdreaM" Rizky, and Tri "Jhocam" Kuncoro since that last tournament. They've brought in Park “March” Tae Won as a head coach and Pyo “MP” No-a.
With the Dota Pro Circuit scheduled to begin January 18, 2021, T1 has two months to find their stride. We'll be watching, and you can follow them with us here.
