Adroit Esports announced on Saturday, November 14 that they have released their Dota 2 roster. The organization has also let go of all their support staff to shut down the operation, in response to
In the Facebook posting, the organization said, "We started Adroit small but with big goals for the future. A few championships but with honor, we raised the banner of SEA, PH, and Cebuano Dota."
The organization's Dota 2 roster included:
  • Justine Ryan Evangelista "Tino" Grimaldo
  • Mc Nicholson "Mac" Villanueva
  • Nikko "Nikko" Bilocura
  • Marvin "Boombacs" Rushton
  • Bryle "cml" Alviso
Adroit had been very active in recent months. They most recently placed fifth-sixth in the DOTA Summit 13: Southeast Asia earlier this month.
Regarding the shutdown, the organization stated:
Sacrifices were made by everyone on the team to stay afloat but the pandemic situation has led us to the inevitable.
This is not the first organization to fall due to the constraints of the pandemic. Earlier this year, fellow SEA organization Geek Fam shut down, citing the lack of the DPC. Though Valve has provided some funding for tournament organizers, including DOTA Summit 13, it's clear that prize money alone isn't enough to sustain team organizations.
