Former TNC player Park “March” Tae Won will take the head coach position for T1’s
Dota 2 roster, reuniting him with former MVP Phoenix teammate, Pyo “MP” No-a in the coaching positions on T1.
In addition to March’s move onto the team, it was also announced that former Geek Fam player Karl “Karl” Jayme will be joining the roster, taking the mid position. This means that the former mid laner for T1, Muhammad “InYourdreaM” Rizky will be taking over the carry position for the rest of the season.
These roster changes are coming as a result of March being let go from TNC Predator due to different priorities.
It is not a surprise that March has chosen an organization that is closer to his home in Korea and hopefully will provide him with the best situation to do his job properly.
On the other hand, Karl is a Filipino mid player who is one of the few to have reached 11,000 MMR on the Southeast Asian server. He spent his last stint with Geek Fam, taking first place in several Southeast Asian tournaments such as BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia and ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA league a few months ago.
It will be interesting to see how three different nationalities, Indonesian, Korean and Malaysian, will work in a Korean-based team. T1’s results had been lackluster even before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and they haven't finished higher than fourth in the last three tournaments they have participated in.
