The TrackDota pick for your August 29, 2020, Series of the Day is:

TNC Predator versus BOOM Esports

Their match will round off the first phase of ESL One Thailand: Asia’s group stage.
TNC Predator will be staring down another contender for Group A’s top seed. BOOM Esports is just a single game ahead of TNC in the rankings. The winner will likely secure a spot in the upper bracket, putting them one step closer to ESL’s generous $135,000 USD prize pool.
TNC weren’t exactly known for their consistency before the switch to online, but the problem has worsened since. The Filipino squad has missed the podium at four of their last six events. 2020 might be the first year since 2013 that the Predators don’t win at least one championship. Position 1 Kim "Gabbi" Villafuerte has done his best to prevent that, going an insane 37-2-28 across three games on his signature Faceless Void. Soft support Timothy "Tims" Randrup does his best to create space for his carry, putting up 7-7-25 killscores as Mirana. In Group A, TNC is tied for second with Fnatic. A win over BOOM will almost guarantee a great seed for the finals.
BOOM Esports themselves know that their top-seed status is fleeting. Group A is the much harder group at ESL One: Thailand, and they have both TNC and Fnatic nipping at their heels. Captain Alfi "Khezcute" Nelphyana does his best to enable his team in-game and out; his Abaddon has been a key component of their carry-focused drafts. BOOM prefers to play the longer game with an average end-time just below 37 minutes. It’s not that BOOM can’t steamroll the game if they smell blood in the water, they just know Randy "Dreamocel" Sapoetra becomes a raid boss after acquiring 30K net worth. A victory over TNC would finalize their spot in the upper bracket.
Both teams are making the most of the group of death, but with their Fnatic duel tomorrow and their current top seed, BOOM has the most to lose. They also have the most to gain; TNC isn’t guaranteed a winner’s bracket berth even if they win 2:0. You won’t want to miss out on the clash between these two carry-focused teams. Gabbi and Dreamocel will turn this group stage match into a clash of the titans.
